Onion, Tomato & Cucumber Raita Recipe

Ingredients for Onion, Tomato & Cucumber Raita:

Any liquid measures (like pints, quarts, fl oz etc) are international so please use our Weights & Measures converters if you are using USA imperial measures. If possible, use the metric quantities.
 
to serve 6:
1 pint (600ml)
natural yoghurt
1 medium
tomato
1 small
onion
1 small
cucumber
8-10
coriander leaves
 
salt and pepper
1 teaspoon
mustard seeds
1 teaspoon
vegetable oil

Onion, Tomato & Cucumber RaitaVegetarian RecipeOnion, Tomato & Cucumber Raita is a quickly-made accompaniment for all kinds of Indian Biryani. Since the main ingredient is yogurt Raita works extremely well with any spicy Indian recipe or simply use it as a delicious dip with raw vegetables.

How to make Onion, Tomato & Cucumber Raita:

Deseed the tomato and chop the flesh into small pieces. Peel the onion and cucumber and chop finely. Chop the coriander leaves. Mix the yogurt, onions and tomatoes, coriander leaves and cucumber then season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Season the mustard seeds in oil for 5 minutes then add to the mixture. Serve with Indian Biryani and breads.

Garnish your Raita with mint leaves to both improve the flavour and the appearance.
